Shabnam Mogharabi

Shabnam Mogharabi has nearly 20 years of experience in impact entertainment building organizations, teams and startups with an emphasis on television and digital video development, media production, storytelling, social platforms and editorial news. As CEO of SoulPancake, an inspiring entertainment company she co-founded with actor Rainn Wilson to create positive and socially conscious video content about human connection, Mogharabi was responsible for steering the company’s vision, safeguarding its mission and supercharging its growth. She has also advised SoulPancake’s parent company, Participant, on strategic issues, acquisition opportunities and the company’s long-term social impact strategy.

Mogharabi is also an award-winning journalist and editor, having served as the youngest Editor-in-Chief at Hanley Wood Business Media where she oversaw a group of four print publications, eight websites and e-newsletters and three annual live events. One of the youngest winners of the Jesse H. Neal Award, she has worked as a contributing writer, editor and stringer for a number of publications, including People, Pool & Spa News, Sunset and HuffPost. Mogharabi is also co-author of the New York Times bestselling book SoulPancake: Chew on Life’s Big Questions.

Mogharabi received her BA in journalism from USC Annenberg, BA in business administration from USC Marshall and MS in media management from Northwestern University. She is a member of the 2016 Class of Henry Crown Fellows and the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
