Karen Jones is a communications strategist with over two decades of expertise driving high-impact publicity initiatives for a global entertainment brand. Beginning her career as a unit publicist for feature films, Jones seamlessly transitioned into television publicity before ultimately founding The Jones Code, a firm specializing in communications consulting, brand and executive storytelling, and leadership coaching. In her previous role as Executive Vice President and Head of Communications for HBO and HBO Max (now Max), Jones was a trusted advisor to the C-suite, leading external communications and media relations, including crisis management, and spearheading all publicity efforts for the award-winning original content slate. Jones is deeply committed to supporting equitable access to education and mentoring emerging leaders, especially those from underrecognized backgrounds. She serves on the board of Ready to Succeed and is a Governor of the Television Academy, representing the Public Relations Peer Group.
Jones completed her BA magna cum laude in French at Amherst College. She is currently attending the Hudson Institute to earn her coaching certification.
