Burghardt Tenderich

Burghardt Tenderich has over 20 years experience in communication and marketing in the information technology and internet industries. Industry appointments include General Manager for Bite Communications, North America, a technology communications consultancy company; Vice President of public relations at Siebel Systems; and Senior Vice President and Partner for the technology public relations agency Applied Communications.

Tenderich is a professor of practice at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism where he teaches and researches about strategic communication, the emerging media environment, media entrepreneurship, and brand purpose. Tenderich is also Associate Director of Annenberg’s Strategic Communication and Public Relations Center. He co-authored the book Transmedia Branding, which was published by USC Annenberg Press in 2015. Previously, he held the role of Executive Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at the University of California, Berkeley.

Tenderich holds an MA and a PhD in economic geography from the University of Bonn in Germany.

He is co-founder Cardisio GmbH, an innovative, AI-based mobile health tech company in Frankfurt, Germany that aims to steeply improve heart health by screening non-invasively for coronary artery disease and other heart conditions.
