Ted Skidmore is a marketing insights professional with extensive experience in global marketing generally and the entertainment industry specifically. Before joining USC in a teaching capacity, Skidmore spent 21+ years at The Walt Disney Company, where he served as Vice President and Department Head of Global Research & Strategic Insights for Walt Disney Pictures Marketing. During his tenure, he led research and strategy initiatives for the company’s top film brands, including: Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, and LucasFilm (Star Wars). Skidmore worked on the global marketing campaigns for such acclaimed films as Pirates of the Caribbean, The Avengers, and Black Panther, as well as such animated blockbusters as: Zootopia, Frozen, Inside Out, and Toy Story 3

Prior to his work at Disney, Skidmore held consumer research and strategy roles at such leading advertising agencies as Foote, Cone, and Belding, and DMB&B, working with such top-tier clients as McDonald’s and Mattel Toys.

Skidmore earned a BA in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.
